Make Every Day Account: Why Attendance Matters
Building good attendance habits early is key to success. Did you know that missing just two or three days a month can lead to falling behind in reading by third grade?
Students with good attendance:
- Achieve grade-level standards at a higher rate
- Graduate high school more often
- Develop habits that fuel success in school and future careers
Students can suffer academically if they miss 10% of the school year, or about 18 days. That's just one day every two weeks.
It takes an average of three days to catch up for each day missed. Attendance matters—make every day count!
